1,250 words, 7 minute read

As Q1 2025 comes to a close, it’s incredible to see how much the Tezos art community has already accomplished this year. Despite the challenges the crypto space has faced, the passion and persistence of this community continue to drive innovation and creativity, regardless of what the markets or algorithms throw our way.
From global exhibitions and meetups to grassroots initiatives built on collaboration and mutual support, it’s important to take a step back and recognize these significant moments. Spreading the word about Tezos matters, because you never know when an anon is watching, documenting our journey, and getting ready to publish it on Amazon for the world to see. (That actually happened, and you can find the book here!)
Let’s look at some of the defining moments from the past few months, and don’t forget to check out the weekly recap posted every Friday on the @tezos X account.

Exhibitions & Events #
The year started with #OpenTez, an open-edition art event on Objkt. This event gave collectors access to a wide range of Tezos art across different price points and genres, reinforcing accessibility and the spirit of open editions.
#Share4Tez made its return, leveraging Objkt’s referral program to create a sharing frenzy. Participants competed to share links to their favorite artworks, earning referral fees while amplifying Tezos art on social media. The event culminated with top referrers winning an exclusive artwork by John Karel.
Tezos art took center stage at NFT Paris on February 13th and 14th, featuring live minting at “Paintboxed,” a Tezos World Tour event, and “Insilio: Inner Sanctuary” curated by @sutanz. This Tezos x NFT Paris partnership reinforced Tezos’s presence as a key player in the new era of digital art.
Also in February, the Tezos community celebrated the #Valentez event, a four-day digital art showcase held from February 11th to 14th on objkt. Initiated by the artist @pneumaninesix, the event featured a variety of Valentine’s day themed art.
Later in February, “Body Anxiety in the Metaverse” launched on Objkt, curated by @second_guess gallery. This collection explored themes of digital identity and embodiment, with standout sales like “Advertising Humanity” selling for 6,000 tez (~4,089 USD at the time).
On March 6, “Compositions in Code: The Art of Processing and p5.js” opened at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York. Running through August 24th, this exhibition merges generative art with blockchain technology, allowing visitors to collect digital art fragments directly on Tezos.
These are just a few of the significant events that have already taken place for Tezos community in 2025. You can also stay up to date on Tezos events by following Tezos Commons on X or by visiting the website here. Rise Of Generative NFT Art Projects #
The first quarter of 2025 saw a surge in generative art projects across fx(hash) and Objkt, with both now able to host generative releases. Plus a new platform called Editart went live, offering the unique ability for collectors to co-create artworks alongside artists.
In January, the annual month long celebration of generative art that uses the hashtag, #genuary, Tezos community utilized the new Editart platform to celebrate generative art. Then there was “Continuum”, a long form generative project by @Olga_f2727 which was released on objktone.
In early February, French electronic musician Agoria debuted a generative music project on Objkt called “Getaway”, collaborating with Nile Rodgers and Madison McFerrin to create an evolving composition that changes with each play.
These projects showcase the diversity of artistic expression flourishing within Tezos platforms, pushing the boundaries of generative art on Tezos.

Open Calls & Commissions #
Open calls remain a defining feature of the Tezos community, providing artists with opportunities to showcase their work while fostering meaningful engagement.
- The @Tezos account on X continues to invite guest collectors to curate and acquire art as part of a #TezosTuesday initiative, with a 500 tez budget provided. Most recently, @IdaHerself took on the role, collecting from Tezos artists.
- @TezosArtNetwork has been building a growing community through regular Twitter activities, fostering discovery and engagement. Member @NftyTrap posted a satirical shill thread mocking bad actors in the space that farm artists for engagement. This unexpectedly sparked a wave of support, with collectors pooling over 400 tez to acquire art from the thread legitimately. To look back at that moment on X, start here.
- ACTZ (Art Commissions on Tezos), founded by @328_lad, continues its structured commission model with monthly themed curations, ensuring selected artists receive a guaranteed 50 tez starting bid on their commissioned pieces.

Community Initiatives #
This Is A Raid (TIAR), founded by @_TransparentArt, is a community-driven initiative supporting Tezos artists through coordinated “raids.” Members nominate and vote for artists to support, collectively acquiring works to boost visibility and sales. Learn more at ThisIsARaid.xyz.
WTF Gameshow Is This? is another eventful initiative for Q1, firing up with its second season. This is another @_TransparentArt creation that starts off extremely confusing for contestants, hence the name. However, to summarize, contestants are given tasks to earn points in the form of a token called $WTF, and the tasks directly support Tezos artists and/or involve community building.
Let’s Make Tezos Great Together (LMTGT), led by @FirstRain, fosters community collaboration by organizing events, supporting artists, and raising funds for initiatives like the Teia Fountain, which helps new artists mint their first artworks. LMTGT also began raising for the TIAR treasury, ensuring future raid budgets are secured.
Bosque Gracias art residency hosted 6+ art residencies where creators met, lived, and built together in nature. Artists then transformed these real-life collaborations into Tezos NFTs and showcased their works to the Tezos community, inspiring many with their unique and wholesome initiative.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Tezos Art? #
As Q1 2025 wraps up, the Tezos art community is just getting started. With upcoming exhibitions, collaborations, and new initiatives, the momentum is set to continue.
I expect more real-world exhibits like Compositions in Code, and am extremely excited for the TezCon 2025 meetup. This will be a multiple day music and art focused community event in Seattle, Washington.
From my personal experience with the people behind community efforts such as LMTGT and TIAR, I believe they will keep growing as communities that support artists and foster innovation.
With ongoing engagement through regular Twitter Spaces and grassroots campaigns, the Tezos art scene remains vibrant and forward-thinking. While we’ve covered many key highlights, there’s so much more on the horizon. Stay connected and keep watching as the Tezos art movement evolves.
