Tezos Commons has just published the latest issue of its weekly newsletter, The Baking Sheet. Issue #130 includes the news that Manchester United Football Club (MUFC) has just dropped its much-anticipated first set of ‘digital collectibles’ on Tezos. The first collectible is a digital key, offering fans a variety of free ‘rewards’. Future drops will be paid, with 20% of the proceeds going to the Manchester United Foundation. These collections ‘will each feature a different design, all taking inspiration from the Club’s history, with some unlocking further fan experiences’.
Also this week, the exciting news that Lima, the 12th Tezos protocol upgrade will be live in just a few days. With Lima, development work is finalized for Smart Rollups, an innovative Layer 2 scaling solution expected to debut in the next upgrade proposal, called ‘Mumbai’. It’s by using Smart Rollups that Tezos core developers aim to achieve 1M TPS, with a public test of this capability planned for early 2023.
