The Oxford Protocol has Arrived #

The Tezos blockchain ecosystem stands at the precipice of a large transition with the forthcoming “adaptive issuance” feature, which is an integral part of the 15th protocol upgrade known as “Oxford”. Cryptonio did an amazing job highlighting the complex nature of adaptive issuance in his recent article.

The concept of adaptive issuance marks a deviation from Tezos’ existing model of issuing new tez. It connects tez issuance with security measures and encourages active participation. Upon the implementation of the Oxford upgrade, adaptive issuance has the potential to fundamentally transform Tezos’ economic framework.

Tezos Ecosystem DAO Updates #

The Tezos Ecosystem DAO has reached a noteworthy milestone by joining The PASS, an aggregator of DAOs that provides valuable information about numerous DAOs on different blockchains. This acknowledgment highlights the important position that the DAO holds within the Tezos ecosystem.

As the DAO is still in its early stages, it welcomes input to fuel its development. This may involve considering alternative approaches such as grants or funding through inflation mechanisms.

To that end, Tezos Commons has also recently secured a significant grant of aproximately 72,000 tez from the Tezos Foundation to further support the DAO’s initiatives. The grant, exclusively intended for the Tezos Ecosystem DAO, has been deposited into the DAO treasury, bolstering its potential for ecosystem grants.

The Tezos Ecosystem DAO is actively inviting participation from the Tezos community, including artists, developers, builders, gamers, and more, to propose ideas for funding. Those with innovative concepts, projects, or suggestions deserving of funding are encouraged to share their proposals on Tezos Agora.

If you have a good idea for something to help grow the Tezos ecosystem, make sure to apply for funding!
