The TezCorp (pronounced ‘Tez-Core’) Discord Server is a 'public good' that aims to connect all Tezos ecosystem communities under the umbrella of a single Discord server, making it easier to discover new communities and helping to reduce fatigue from ‘server hopping’.
Many of us know all too well just how difficult it can be to manage multiple Discord servers. TezCorp uses Discord bridges – applications that allow for cross-communication between channels in distinct Discord servers – to contain the experience of server hopping within a central hub, and it has become the largest 'one-stop shop' for Tezos communication.
The server offers a range of bridged channels from categories as broad as governance, marketing, and big news announcements; from specific DeFi projects, decentralized exchanges, development teams; to NFT marketplaces, NFT projects, DAOs, and more. And the bridges aren’t limited to Discord servers – TezCorp also integrates bridges to popular Telegram channels.
TezCorp is a good example of a project where a little bit of centralization, here at the level of communication channels, actually ends up aiding decentralization
TezCorp community moderators have access to a shared Tweet-deck for posting on the TezCorp Twitter account, and the addition of new moderators is an informal process that is taken on a case-by-case basis depending on the activity and interest of the individuals involved.
Web3 is based on the notion of decentralization, but TezCorp is a good example of a project where a little bit of centralization, here at the level of communication channels, actually ends up aiding decentralization at the level of ecosystem reach. This is because the structure allows for communication to happen laterally, and for leadership to cycle indefinitely.
If you have a new project and are looking to join TezCorp, be sure to join the TezCorp Discord Server and get in touch with a moderator to inquire about getting your community bridged.
