Web3 comics and gaming company Interpop is just days away from launching its latest game, Emergents TCG, and the team at has been taking a detailed look.
TCG stands for ‘trading card game’ and according to Interpop founder Brian David-Marshall, Emergents TCG will combine the best aspects of a virtual experience with the control and ownership that made original, physical trading card games like Magic: The Gathering so popular when they appeared in the 1990s.

Unlike many so-called ‘free to play’ online games, Emergents TCG uses NFT technology, built on Tezos, to provide genuine ownership over the cards used in the game. This unlocks the ability to customize cards, as well as sell and trade them, creating a secondary marketplace that benefits and empowers players, outside of the gameplay. Emergents TCG was created by a team of game designers who, like Brian David-Marshall, came from the traditional world of comics and gaming, and features artwork from some of the best illustrators in the business. The game is based in the Emergents Universe, a character-driven fantasy world that provides the basis for Interpop’s series of digital comic books.
Emergents TCG is fun to play. All the basic elements of the trading card games we all know and love are present here, and the ability to play Emergents TCG with other players without having to leave the comforts of home is a definite plus. The gameplay is fun, engaging, smooth, and quite enjoyable - Stu Elmes, Tezos Commons
Emergents TCG enters public beta on August 11th, and the launch will be followed on August 18th by what Interpop is calling a ‘Super Booster’ drop of exclusive cards and artwork.
